lawn mower has a kick back in the pull start?
i just tore down my lawn mower motor(tucmeseh) and i put it back together and now it kicks back when i try to pull the pull start. if i take the spark plug out it does not kick back so im confused.any help would be appreciated
could it possibly be that i put the camshaft/crankshaft gear in the wrong spot?? because i re did the coil gap and that didnt do anything and it never did that before i tore it down
Could be the coil to flywheel is set improperly throwing the timing off. I believe most are 0.010 (thickness of a business card)
If the timing is too early – it will fire too much before TDC, (top dead center) and kick back.
Also check the the flywheel to crankshaft key. if you installed the original one and it had a slight crease in it and you installed it upside down from original – that would throw the timing off.
